A Murder a Day: A Year of Daily Death
1 January (1990) — Dr. John Boyle murders his wife, Noreen, and buries her in the basement.
2 January (1995) — Jennifer Nelson is shot and killed in her home by assailant Charlie Myers. Myers was later apprehended due in part to the information given by Jenny’s young son, who witnessed the attack and was abducted from the home before being left in a highway rest stop.
3 January (1972) — Marybeth Tinning murders her daughter, Jennifer, eight days after her birth.
4 January (1964) — Mary Sullivan lets Albert DeSalvo into her apartment and seconds later he brings out a knife and ties her up. He rapes her, then strangles her with his hands. Propping up her legs, the killer inserts a broom handle into her and slips a card he found in her apartment between her toes. The card reads, “Happy New Year”
5 January (2011) — Teenager Elizabeth Ennen is kidnapped in Texas and her body is later recovered along a Texan roadside several days later. Humberto Salinas Jr. eventually pleads guilty to the crime.
6 January (1981) — Claude Dallas Jr murders Bill Pogue and Conley Elms.
